TF2 Level and DnD 4th Ed

- We push little cart!
Just thought I’d let the curious cats out there know that I’m currently working on a Team Fortress 2 payload map, the same game-type as the ever so popular Gold Rush. I’ve also been poking around in Radiant, Infinity Wards level editor for CoD4, though I probably won’t end up creating a level in it, it was fun to see a different tool set.
Other than that I’ve been reading up on the DnD 4th edition core rulebooks and I’m rather pleased. Just as videogames have taken from DnD systems, now DnD takes systems from videogames. There are so many fundamental rule changes that simplify the core systems.

I’ve heard some opinions say how that simplifying them, they seem more watered down and generic. But I digress, it doesn’t take away from the soul of the game, it just changed it in a way that is more logical and makes sense to a broader audience. Most of your favourite spells are still in there, you just cast them in different and more interesting ways.
Bandits Pass

I thought I’d delve into the Warcraft III editor today so I started with a simple 1v1 melee map. To my delight the editor was super user friendly and also fun to use. I didn’t even notice the whole day went by until I finished. I went with a bandit theme (if you couldn’t tell by the bitchin name). I also threw in some murlocs and kobolds for good measure. After all, what’s warcraft without murlocs and kobolds!?
If you have Warcraft III and the expansion I urge you to download it now and give it a whirl!
The End of GD09
What a week! Our last class was last wednesday, graduation on thursday and the grad party on friday. I don’t think I could have asked for a better class to graduate with. It really doesn’t seem like a year to me. It feels like yesterday we we’re all drawing obscene things in pictochat in term 2.

Well now that the VFS chapter is closed in my life, I’ll be devoting all my time and effort into this portfolio and using it to land a job. Right this second I’m working on a melee Warcraft III map. A few play testing sessions later I’ll post throw it up on here as well as the design process.
Anyways keep on checking back for more updates! I guarantee you’ll see a slew more soon.
Cheers!
